And with the acquisitions of Marvel and Star Wars, who knows where this could possibly go...

And here comes the Skylanders vs. Disney Universe battle....

...I'm in the camp where I think Disney saw the billions Activision was raking in & (in typical fashion), wants a piece of that pie.

It could arguably be an overall BETTER game...that said, I've invested too much in S1 & S2 Skylanders already I can easily port over to Swap Force...no plan to buy Infinity UNLESS it goes to down to $35-$40 around Black Friday/Christmas time...and even then, I can't see myself buying all those figures (not a big fan of these particular Disney characters except maybe Wreck It Ralph).

I think it'll be good for both franchises... competition brings innovation. Skylanders Giants was kinda boring, and the whole 'Swap Force' thing doesn't interest me much. I can see my kid losing the top or bottom half of a figure, and I'll end up having to buy an entire new one to make up for it. It just doesn't seem like a great gimmick.

Bring me better leveling, skills, and quest zones instead of a gimmick for the figures. Especially when there will be 8 'swap force' figures and 32 reprints of Series 1/2 figures, I'm sure.

I thought you weren't able to port over the current Skylanders to Swap Force. That's why Swap Force seems like a shot in the foot for Activision.

NVM: I must have been misinformed, as now they are saying you can bring in current Skylanders. Still have to buy a new portal, though Frown

That leads to my question: what replay value is this? (I guess I'm asking about Skylanders, but figure the Disney thing will be similar) There seem to be a lot of kids (and some adults) that continue to buy these figures long after they probably beat the game. What does that add?

And what is the general type of gameplay? I haven't found anything that says. Is it a sidescroller, 1st person, fighter (like Street Fighter, etc)?

I was really confused by Skylanders, and now am confused by this Disney thing. Stick Out Tongue

I guess I'm getting old. One of you dang kids 'splain this all to me!
