After Sequester, Jobless Claims Down

Not to get this thread off topic, but I think they will almost always "manage." Too many states rely on the tourist dollars. Too many people appreciate national parks. But I think we also have to ask ourselves as nation why things like national parks are important to preserve. Regardless, NPS spending isn't really even a drop in the bucket of the federal budget. If people really wanted to do something about federal spending they should start looking at where the real money is -- tax revenue, defense spending, social security, and healthcare spending -- rather than these piecemeal cuts to tiny programs that are already hurting for dollars.

What about the POSITIVE impact on ALL of us when the govt budget decreases and we keep more money in OUR pockets? Why is govt spending always "good", but consumer spending is unmentionable?

Oh right, its "more efficient" to collect 50M in taxes, blow 10+M on management, bureaucracy, and shift money to un-related projects, and then send whatever is left to the actual park operations.

His argument is rather absurd. Everybody pays the same throughout the year, and he is responsible for budgeting the money across the entire year.

God, imagine if he ran a store! Most of them dont turn a profit until Black Friday, so I guess he might as well close all of January so as not to make the December shoppers subsidize the January shoppers.

I'm waiting for the liberals to bash the military cuts for a simple reason..

they cut educational assistance to military. I think most people know that the general population of young military recruits typically come from low income households, low income neighborhoods etc.. etc.. So now you take away the education incentive and decrease the chance of upward mobility for those with some of the smallest incomes. Does this not take away from the opportunity to gain an education? It's saddening that the white house tours ending gets more air time than this topic.

Or maybe this is the liberal end game to remove incentive to join the military and decrease size by incentive to join. Regardless if this hit any other group of people, I think the MSM would be livid.

Spending is going to only increase not quite as much as we wanted oh noes. *oink* *oink*

I'm guessing within the next two weeks they will use HAARP to make the sky fall and then say, "See? I told you so."

There is no "sequestration day." That's the whole point. It's no different than December 2010. If you recall, the GOP won the House in November 2010. The jobs report in December was favorable, and the GOP made the ridiculous claim that everything had changed overnight because they won.
