I just got this a few days ago and this has an amazing picture. I don't use its speakers as I have a very good sound system. It doesn't have wi-fi but I already have a blu-ray DVD player that plays Netflix, Pandora, etc. Would recommend.

Shipping is free if you get Inner Circle Service for $30, $80 if you don't.

A 70" LED HDTV is going to cost you $1,600 or more. This is a bargain, in for one. No tax in California, yay.

yep, the only thing holding me back is tiger direct and 2 month warranty. Other wise I would be all over this like white on rice..
I will tell you if I get screwed. Tiger has not been good to many people. I hope I am not making a mistake! Great TV. But,......................

I would tell you to jump on the Mits but I would not feel good about it. I have 5 little people on my right shoulder saying "Don't" and one LOUD little sucker that twisted my arm and made me pull out my credit card!

Stick Out Tongue

We'll See.

Aren't most movie screens DLP? They certainly aren't LED or Plasma technology.
DLP stands for Digital Light Projector I believe, so yes all the movie screens I have ever seen have been Projector based, but in the future who knows.

Not threadcrapping, just FYI:
3rd google search result - sold out, but Paulstv was sellling it at $1050, plus possibly $250 in gift cards according to the title...

Hope that helps compare pricing.

To be honest, not sure if they had any other choice, as even if they did make LED/LCD or Plasma that large, it probably would make economical sense. Not sure what other technologies other than those and projection there are...

Not a recent price. I have been following this model. I would have preffered to purchase through Pauls.

(Sincerely) Thanks for the info.

It is out of stock for now, but don't be surprised if they get more in a few days. They are drop-shipped from the manufacturer's warehouse and are not handled by TigerDirect.

Also the delivery is "threshold only" which means you can just tip the delivery guy $25 to put it all together for you, make sure it works right, move the old tv, and then stack the cardboard debris neatly. Much cheaper than White Glove delivery!! lol

Why is this so cheap? I don't understand or pretend to know anything about the specifications but this deal seemed insanely good.

DLP is excellent technology , I really like my set. But the economics of DLP deteriorated because the price of large screen LCD screens has really come down. They used to be able to charge $2000 for a set, and now they can't sell them for $1500, and it would get worse every year, so they left the business a few months ago. They are just getting rid of their remaining inventory at a loss. Keep an eye out every once in a while you will see a special sale, but even those will be over in a few months. Mine is "refurbished" whatever that means . it was in a plain cardboard box that didn't say Mitsubishi. For that I saved $700.

as a troubleshooter for the cable company, I've seen every tv imaginable in the last 13 years.. i wouldn't touch a DLP.. the picture always looks dark/dim, they aren't flat like an LCD/led, and replacing the bulbs every couple yrs.. pfft.. the pic normally doesn't even look that great..

take it for what its worth, just my opinion.

You can't mount this on a wall, but that isn't anything I care about. Very happy with my dlp much better than a shiny Plasma model, which you can't even watch in the daytime. Regarding it being dim, there are bright and brilliant settings that you can select. This is not dim at all.

If you buy this on AMEX , Square Trade won't start the coverage until four months after purchase. I bought a one year warranty for $80 that will cover the first 16 months.

DLP is good for projectors not for set-top box TVs.
