No one 'needs' most of the stuff they find on this forum but if its an awesome price, alot of us just can't pass - like me on this jacket. Figure I won't wear it until next Winter and if I change my mind and don't want it then, I can definitely ebay it for more than I bought it for.

Yes, sure, most buyers of this jacket - myself included - would be better off spending the money on food or basic toiletries. But what fun is that?

Also - though I don't see myself doing this - sometimes buyers pick up deals like this for resale purposes. Ultimately their goal is to make money, not waste it.

I have a pretty liberal definition of "need", but it seems like people here are buying the jacket JUST because they can get a good deal on it, even though they know they won't use it. That is baffling to me.

I'm not arguing that you should spend all your money on necessities, just that your fun money should go to fun things that you'll actually use, not fun things that will just sit in a closet to be looked at occasionally so that you can get that rush of "the deal" back for a few more seconds.
