If device works well on Windows 7, it should work perfectly on Windows 8 too. Windows Vista, 7 and 8 use the same kernel.

Seems like a driver issue on Asus' part - I'm guessing those users are installing supplemental drivers from the CD insert.

My Dell wireless adapter works on XP and windows vista but I have yet to get it work on windows 8. It can find my home WiFi but always has trouble connecting. Switching to XP ir before I upgraded from vista it works/worked. Hence I'm looking for a new wireless adapter for my desktop running Windows 8.

Beware, bought one last week when it's $5 AR (w/ $10 newegg rebate), got the item in a white refurb box, item is ok, but the upc code on box is different from what rebate asked (not 282679063505). Finally had to question newegg customer service, they issued me $10 credit back, so, stay sharp and good luck!

What was the UPC on the box?

Got my rebate ready to mail, UPC on the box was 092636262242. Which I noticed was different from the rebate page UPC but it's the only one I got.

So are they issuing credits or rebates?

I ordered the new one before i even knew about this deal, on the 14th. I hope it has the same upc as the upc on the rebate. Than it'd be FAR.

They're prob using auto-CD and do not know how to do int in W7/Vista compatibility mode.

Yeah... some people will never learn.

It definitely is only for the Refurbished model. They don't have to put Refurbished in the title on the rebate, and often they don't (See Logitech QuickCam Webcam Threads). So anyone who ordered the new Asus wireless adapter just bought it for $15.

However, the UPC still might not match the one on the MIR, despite the MIR being linked on the product page now and the SKU on the instruction form matching the Refurbished item.

Either:
1) Newegg will just issue us a credit back for the $15 MIR.
2) Newegg will correct the MIR to include the correct UPC code for the Refurbished product.
