Great price! Pretty sure you can root and load CM10 on this through an SD card.

Nook is a phenomenal tablet... why? Because it has an EPIC standby battery life compared to most high level Android tablets.

now if it was $50 off, instead of a $50 credit to their store, we'd be talking. Still pretty sexy deal, especially if you plan to root it with CM10.

I have a 16G 9" Kindle Fire unopened from BB. Paid $299 but BB price matched to OD for $269 a week later. Have about a week to return it. How do these two stack up against each other? Playing around in the store, for a novice most tablets seem quite similar.

I owned the 8.9" Kindle Fire HD for a while. It doesn't have expandable memory (via microSD card), while the Nook does.

Playing with them side by side in BestBuy, the nook seems to be the equal of the Kindle in every way. Of course, the nook restricts you to their limited offering of apps, while the Kindle doesn't prevent you from sideloading apps.

You really might want to make a change to your OP - $50 credit good for 30 days. We got in on the $30 gift card deals a month ago, plus 5% target red card discount. I was going to return and rebuy at B&N when this deal started, until I read the fine print.

Haven't loaded the CM10 on this yet, my daughter just got it as a gift from her grandparents (too big for our budget sadly). It DOES work with the Microsoft Bluetooth keyboard - I think the 6000 - we got on clearance at Staples 3 years ago for $20 (SD of course) which is nice, as it wouldn't work with my phone. Added in that free Office Pro deal and she can do her school work on it, and got in on the Rakuten deal so picked up some MicroSD cards (missed out on the Sony 32gb deal) for her and my tablets.

It's not $219. You need to spend the $50 content from B&N.
