Very true...There seems to be no regulation from these overseas products. Infact they manufacture flashlights under different brand names which is illegal since they do not have such a license in the first place. Also there is no regulation about any toxic metals or paint used in these products since they are coming directly from warehouse in china and shipped to the consumer directly. The customs do not check these items thoroughly. Remember: This deal contains only one 18650 battery and not TWO as the image shows. If the there is not overload circuit in the battery then there are chances that the battery would just die down after a certain number of uses. The polarity of the batteries and charger should not be interchanged as it can cause the battery to explode. Do not leave the charger running all night or away from sight for risk of these crude products from causing a fire. There could be a lot of arguments from the above statements, but the bottom line is - buy at your own risk. Last edited by andromeda3; 03-15-2013 at 06:50 AM.. |

I'm in for 1 for the charger
I have 2 "1000lm" flashlights that use 18650 batteries, and I left the charger at a cabin on a mountain biking trip. > FWIW, the flashlights may not be 1000 lm, but they're bright as hell. They're bright enough to use as headlamps on night rides. That's pretty damn good for a flashlight. I've been very happy with mine. I use them for termite inspections on homes, and I have to use the "low" setting. If I use the max output setting and flash a white wall, I see purple for a few minutes as if I looked at the sun. They're not the same flashlight, but they're $12 Meritline lights so I'd imagine the quality isn't that far off with these. |

I bought 2 of these which are a better deal and extremely bright:

Not that I am interested in ordering, as I already have a few XML T6 flashlights. And to be honest, I don't trust the batteries included. My next purchase should be one more powerful than that. A two XML die, multiple XML bulbhead, or more powerful emitter, I guess. Or a camping lantern that uses multiple XML is also useful. |

Bottom line is, these cheap Asian knockoff, garage manufactured, lets use other manufacturers reject LED module, crap lights are junk. If you really need a decent light, pony up the $75-100 required for quality. I'm going to make do with my 100-200 lumen class Surefire for carry and a big-ass halogen torch for throwing a beam UNTIL the new Cree XM-R module come available in consumer lights. 1760 lumen, baby ! http://www.cree.com/led-component.../xlamp-mkr |

The xm-r will be awesome! I have a cheap xm-l light that has a solid heatsink. I picked it up for $15 and am using it as a host. I'll drive it with a 26650 and a driver with 5/50/100 modes. With added 7135s it should do 4.2a on high. That'll be a nice . On that note, my mag85 is still my favorite light due to the color. |

in for 1 as well. I've been wanting to try 18650s and I'm hoping this will be bad enough to make me stick with my AA lights, LD10, LD20, L1T, LD41, TK41...It will be far cheaper for me for this ultrafire to be complete garbage.

I have my fair share of flashlights and this one is my brightest (and one of my cheapest). Crazy bright I would even say. Can't image the need for a brighter light. Overtime I've learned that there is such thing as too bright a flashlight. Saying that, thank goodness for the low power mode. I thought these two lights were the same, but I guess not.

Although I got some 18650 batteries and charger from China and 2 of the batteries dont work, and 2 do, sucks... they credited me a few dollars for that. But my "1200 lumen" light is bright as heck, much brighter than the Fenix 300 lumen and my other 300-600 lumen cheapos. |

I am a bit of a flashlight collector and have owned many of these cheap Chinese lights.
The quality of the light itself should be perfectly adequate. Be warned however that the included batteries are likely junk and these ultrafire batteries are often old batteries salvaged from used battery packs. The problem with these cells is that you really never know what your going to get. The capacity claims are also usually heavily exaggerated. That being said, this is still a good deal but expect to buy better batteries and a better charger down the road. |
