I've always had bad experiences with these. They always die on me pretty soon. I started using rechargeable AA instead. I am tempted to give these a try again.

I was thinking about getting these but then saw that Staples will have another FAR duracell battery deal next week and I still have a ton of stock leftover from the previous deals.
I'll see how long my stock of FAR Duracell Batteries last me before I decide to go the rechargeable battery route. |

My family of 3 use 16 of these + 3 dual MS chargers between us. Love them. Only had one die so far in 4 years, but we do change them out often, what with having so many.
Sure, I've usually got some 400+ free OM/OD/Staples batteries lying around the house, but I just give them away to family and friends.

I bought a two pack of these in 2009. I'm still using those same two rechargeable batteries. It takes about 30 mins to fully charge and they're still good for about 25 hours of gameplay before needing recharged.
*Note: I consider myself lucky. I have a friend who bought about the same time as me and only gets about 15 hours of gameplay between battery changes*...Still not bad after 4 years! How to get SB6141 for $67! Search deal talk for threads started by me and you shall enjoy this deal!

once you go eneloops you never go back
fwiw the cells inside these packs (if genuine) are pretty comparable to eneloops stacked together inside the pack. |

I've had the same 4 kicking around for several years so you guys are either doing something wrong (like charging them before they're dead) or the charger you're using is frying them.

i'd had about a dozen microsoft branded ones and they have worked for years at a time. Only ones that died were when i didnt use it for months at a time it wouldnt charge again.

Wow. So many mixed reviews on these. I am thinknig about purchasing, but just not sure. All i know is that the battery that came with my controller about 2 years ago has finally stopped working well. Not a bad life I would say. What to do

Some of the negativity might be attributed to sellers like amazon selling very old battery packs, namely the pink color ones, which were made at launch and sat on shelves for 7 years.
I do happen to need 2 more rechargable packs but I'm also unsure of the age of these.. seems the reviews on newegg are mostly positive but there is one saying he got some old worthless batteries |
