I got two from WD direct last week. BOTH are DOA!! So you may or may not get lucky. My replacements came yesterday and 1 out of 2 is DOA, again!!! So buyer beware. That's why people go through Amazon for this refurb unit so they can get free return shipping.

Mine from 2/28 is still in processing stage!!! Avoid.

eBay Daily Deals work a bit different with merchants that has to abide by strict terms and conditions. I really doubt this will take long to ship since eBay is a totally different beast and cares about their reputation which also reflects on their daily deals

I have also had bad experiences with returns thru 1saleaday. Basically you have to pay to return the item, and it takes forever to process a refund, with no replacement option. So if you still want the unit, you will have to place a new order. And it seems to me that this particular media player model has a high chance of being DOA based on other reviews. High risk.

Regarding the unit itself: the USB port issue (unit stops recognizing attached USB drive (flash drive or HDD) has not been resolved yet by WD. You may wanna check the discussion on Western Digital thread here: http://community.wdc.com/t5/WD-TV...rue/page/9

seems like a lot of units are getting bricked or having issues recognizing shares or usb drives from firmware updates, At this point I'm using i t purely for the slingplayer and must say that it works, but a bit slow to respond or even exiting the apps.

I hope you're right, but I wouldn't trust 1saleaday

Having owned both the WDTV Live and the WDTV Live Hub I can affirm that they are both great units. Here are some of the pros and cons I have noticed. Ultimately either WDTV Live device is a great way to playback your digital movies, home videos, pictures, stream Netflix, HuluPlus, etc.

Pros for both Live and Hub:
-Support for virtually about any type of video file (.avi, .mkv, .mov, .mpg, etc).
-Support for connected hard drives of any capacity.

Cons for Live and Hub
-no Amazon Video app
-relatively slow startup and sometimes slow menus. I mention this in comparison to my PS3 which isn't by any definition a robust video file player.

Pros for Hub
-Metadata support.
-Network media server, works great for streaming content to other devices on your home network.
-Built in 1TB drive

Again, nothing but trouble from 1 Sale a Day. They used to be good, but now it can take over a month for shipping. I had to return an item and they were nasty. I will not buy from them again. I'd rather pay more and get my item in a reasonable time period.

I'm in the same boat as these guys, as are about 10 other folks SDers I know that jumped on the previous deal through them using ebay...
