this would be great information before the coupon expired :-( please fix title price is 179 not 159

At 179.99 it might not be that great a deal. My post is a deal if you can get those for 159.99 else pl. dont buy. |

I followed this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OsEEQXpHcuQ and was able to open all drives without any visible signs of opening. I can put them back together (and putting them back in is 10 times easier...just push em together) |

There's no point in mentioning warranties for hard drives. Most experienced computer users who have hard drives with important information that crash after several years wouldn't even give them to computer techs to test for that reason. Unless a hard drive crashes with just your OS and some programs in the first few days (and at that point you can return it to the retailer), you're really taking a chance returning a hard drive. |

I wonder what the ratio is to money spent on buying refurb drives to getting good, useable information to make money from. PLease don't type this up for the 10,001 time. I doubt it's helping anything. |

In your example above, you mention pictures and videos. Would you really want some stranger who refurbishes your drive viewing what could be thousands of family photos and videos? In today's world it is a much smarter idea to have important documents and other stuff on a SSD in the first place so you don't have to worry about losing them. My costco has one for Windows 8 and it's only $10 off.
I joined slickdeals to save money but on the contrary, I spend money on things I don't even need and eventually end up in Goodwill or the trash.
