Deal Details

Dell Financial Service is selling refurbished 2007FP 20.1" LCD monitors for $79.99 + $10 shipping + tax at their Ebay store. This monitor is 4:3 with 1600x1200 resolution, which is hard to find nowadays for people who has this need. Dell still sells brand new 2007fp for $429! I got 2 for a dual monitor setup.

Some notes about this monitor:
1) It could be either MVA or IPS (better) panel. Dell used both type of panels, so it's a lottery which you will get. The way to tell is if serial number ends in "L", then it's an LG IPS panel else its MVA.
2) This is classified grade 'B' stock. Might have cosmetic scratches.
3) 30 day warranty/return (potential restocking fee).
4) Currently more than 10 available.

I have these in portrait on my u3011 too. great setup.

You can do some gaming with SoftTH, I use to love the wide view, but ive gone back to having my games just on the 30 and using my 20s for reading stuff on. Web pages on a portrait monitor is the best imo.

Edit : Make sure your video card (or video cards) can handle 3 monitors. I use a GTX 680 and I can run 4 monitors off just the single card. older cards might require sli to run triple

Completely depends on your computer hardware. Monitors don't care.

If anyone can share what they like about the aspect ratio to satisfy my curiosity that would be great.

Personally I don't mind widescreen. But there is an argument to be made that 4:3 is better for reading and websites.

I have two of these flanking my u3011, and it's the best PLP setup possible(though not for gaming purposes)!!! Any u3011 owners should DEFINITELY get these to flank the center display!
I don't have this specific monitor, but have a similar, but slightly larger Samsung SyncMaster 2131 that flanks my U3011. Rotatable 4:3 1600x1200 (which becomes 1200x1600 rotated) is indeed perfect for flanking a 30" 2560x1600 (because the vertical resolution matches up).

Would be nice to get another to make it a PLP setup, but all my computer upgrade budget is being saved up for an SSD this year.

Thank just bought the number 99. I will just use it for portrait mode not the triple set up.

I pulled the trigger. Hopefully, I'll get an the IPS version. That's what my current one is. Either way, this will complete my PLP setup I've been wanting to do for a while.

I'll be sure to post which panel I got when it arrives.
