Got this last time. Nice laptop. The trackpad is a little wonky..probably need to get used to it.

Swapped out the HD for an SSD and it flies...

bad touchpad on the laptop. Lot of people are facing problem with that.

And again, why would you buy new when you get more for your money refurbished with the same warranty other than availability?

Good looking price for the specs. +1 Touchpad this, touchpad that, get a wireless mouse and be done with it already. If that's not an option, well everyone's experience is different so don't be discouraged by all reviews.

Ugh. Thanks for the reminder. I still have an extra SEALED one of these from August when it was W7 with free W8 upgrade with the student rebate for almost the same price. Planned to list it for sale on th ebay and on craigs and tossed it in a closet and forgot. Not sure if I want to open it up and start using it or sell it at this point.

I got one of these at this price last September, and it's a great laptop. I don't use the trackpad at all, as like any civilized human being, I purchased a Bluetooth mouse to go with it. I was leery at first about the HD4000 onboard gpu, but it does everything I ask of it: movies, photo editing, it even runs a good FPS on the games I play. Would be nice if the screen was full HD but hey that's what HDMI and a big-screen TV are for. Great all-around lappie.

I fixed this issue as its the same for the G580
Its a Windows 8/Touchpad issue as Win8 gives you the option of Double touch the touchpad to open rather than clicking the Left button
Open the Touchpad settings, turn down the sensitivity and also turn off double touch to open
Once that was done I never had a problem from then on
