i recall putting 8GB cheaper Kingston ram in my n40l and having no wasnt ECC and the server is on 24/, is ECC essential? also, did RAM prices go way up? I thought I got the n40l ram way cheaper than some prices I am seeing!

(*in fact, I paid $35 for 8GB of 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1333 (PC3 10600) Desktop Memory Model KVR1333D3N9K2/8G back in December 2011!)
I use this non-ecc ram and it works fine. I buy from Frys when it's around $35 AR.

I like these "desktop memory" because I can also use them on desktop motherboards.

When I got free AR motherboards from Newegg, I was able to use them to test the motherboards. Once I found the motherboard were fine, I bought more of the same ram, when they became on sale again AR.

Corsair Vengeance LP 8GB (2 x 4GB) 1333MHz DDR3 240-Pin Desktop Memory

The issue isn't that non-ecc RAM will work fine folks, the issue is how much do you value your data?

Memory prices have definitely gone up over the last 6 months. DRAM manufacturers have cut wafer starts and shifted production to more profitable market segments like NAND and mobile ram. Don't wait to buy memory as prices will go up especially for non PC type modules which is what you should be putting into this machine.

Hi All,
Can someone please post a nice quality photo of the UPC code?
My roommate accidentally threw out my box!
I'm still going to try to send in the rebate... hoping I can still make this slick deal
