89db sensitivity should be perfectly fine under normal operating levels. The addition of a center speaker should have no effect if the receiver has a dedicated center speaker amplifier.
Will all other things being equal with a speaker other than its sensitivity, a more sensitive speaker will have less deep bass response and a lower sensitivity speaker will have deeper bass response.
You need to familiarize yourself with Hoffman's Iron Law:
Any time you add channels, you increase the load. A 5 channel amp is still only rated into 2 channels. Three channels is 33% more taxing on an amp than 2 channels. I'm surprised you don't know this.
If an entry level AVR can't drive a pair of speakers at said reference level, there's no point in purchasing speakers based on deep bass response. In this case, I'm sure these towers are fine. But start adding in 5 89dB speakers on a $199 5 channel 80wpc (2 channel rated) amp. Especially an Onkyo. And you'll start to see strain/audible thd.

Got my 6000's today. Hooked them up right out of the box to my Onkyo 509 and am impressed. I had the 5000's previously, so I had a pretty good idea how these would sound. Bass wise these have plenty of bass. A good part of why that is would be the 509 receiver, which puts out a good amount of bass. I also hooked these up to my Denon 391 and the bass response was noticeably less. Treble is a little on the subdued side with these speakers, but ticking the treble up a notch or two solves that. Great pair of budget speakers for just over 100 bucks shipped. Highly recommended.
