Please enlighten a PS3 n00b.

1. I was reading the reviews and they're mixed leaning towards negative. What is your take on the game?
2. Please Please forgive the analogy (couldn't come up with anything better) but this game is basically like Counter-Strike right? One team VS another?
3. I was recommended not to buy the older COD games because everything would be hacked and therefore gameplay would be unfair. Is that true for this game too?

I liked the multiplayer a lot, but it was never very popular and it's hard to find a server with a decent connection in a mode I want to play. I'm on 360 and PC, but I would imaging that's true for PS3 as well.

Campaign was good, but nothing special.

I bought the Military-Only edition for full MSRP when it came out and didn't hate the game or anything; the 2010 MoH had a better campaign but this is still a competent shooter and while it may not have been worth full price to many, I think $10 isn't asking too much for it.
The big negative that sticks out in my mind was that menu system for multiplayer. The online menu system is one of the worst menus I have ever had to put up with in a game. So counter-intuitive and obnoxious...it makes even changing a weapon or selecting a different class out to be a real chore. Very frustrating.

Is this worth it? I liked the first one and got it for $5 near the end of its life cycle.

Good for campaign. Multiplayer never got popular which was sad cuz it the game has a lot of potential

I think CoD does almost everything better than this game, but MoH really does try to respect and pay tribute to the real-life heroes behind the scenes. It was enjoyable enough for a campaign run-through at $10. One thing I loved was the sound effects - it was pretty brutal how the bullets ripped through the enemy.

This game is so broken and worthless I wouldn't even download it if it was free on the PSN network. Horrible game just a waste of life.....

The is definitely worth it at this price. I bought this game about 2 weeks ago from Gamefly as well for $10. Haven't tried the singleplayer, but with the multiplayer, the experience has been great. The guns feel awesome, the sound is amazing, and the game modes are fun. Also I have never had trouble finding a game online with a full lobby, and lag hasn't been an issue at all. I definitely recommend it for anyone who enjoys a good, solid multiplayer shooter. Just my opinion though.

This game is great! I think people try too much to compare it to COD and that's why they don't like it!
It has a bit more realism in that if you fail to shoot you will get killed as opposed to cod core matches where you still have a chance to turn around and such.

I still play it ( 360) and enjoy it, at this price i recommend it!

Get Resistance 2. You can find it used for less than 10 bucks and is a lot better than this game. This was just an expansion pack of the last game. No improvements and like mentioned its got a horrible menu system. One of the worst I've seen this generation.

The older call of duty games are littered with hackers/glitchers and the cheating in them makes the games nearly unplayable. The first black ops has a good combat training mode with bots or friends and was the saving grace for that game.

Give uncharted/infamous/ratchet and clank series a try for 30 bucks new each or check out ps+ if you are brand new to the ps3

I feel the same exact way as you, it is the case of having a game sit in the backlog list, or wasting your time trying to get into something that sucks and you waste 20 hours on a game that simply is not there. Like that movie that has no plot, but you continue to watch it hoping it is finally there. I am a sucker that way, starting to learn to just stop the movie before I disappoint myself anymore.
