Lots of users are saying that after being used in a single location for a few months, never moving, the boards just fail. This isn't very surprising to me. Rosewell makes a few products of medium quality and a whole lot of products that are very low quality. 'High quality' and Rosewill are not two things that go together, ever. At best, you'll get cheap and functional, if you're lucky. |

I researched a bunch of boards, Filco, Leopold, Das, CM, Corsair and decided on the Logitech G710. I wanted browns and a backlight, there really aren't a lot of options. Some users have reported backlight failures, but when I researched this, I found that it seems to be caused by inadequate motherboard USB power. I have a medium to high end Gigabyte MB and have had no issues at all. A lot of cheap machines fail to provide adequate power over USB. The quality of Logitech's board is very high and they have excellent warranty and support. At it's current Amazon price of $99, it's certainly not cheap, but is reasonable. It has all the features I was looking for and I can type like lightning on it. I have a few quibbles and the design is a bit funky, but I haven't seen anything better for the price. |

Hopefully we don't digress much further, but regarding the rosewill keyboards, the old iteration had usb port problems, where the lightly soldered connection would simply fall apart in a relatively short period of time -- the newer ones allegedly have this fixed. I'm typing on one whose model number indicates it's of the newer iteration, and it's been used pretty roughly for about half a year now, fwiw.

Das switched their manufacturer and their new boards are garbage. I absolutely love the Das with blue switches I bought about a year ago. Easy ways to tell if it's a crap Das or a good one, The new ones are made in China instead of Taiwan. Chinese boards have media keys on top row, some versions of the Das are still made in Taiwan, they only have three keys to the left of the space bar, new ones have an extra FN key. Das' refurbs and their used ebay store are all good Taiwan models (for now). |

As far as I can tell they are very similar. Maybe you should consider something other than the filco or rosewill if there are many problems with the Rosewill because buying a Filco and having to spend 30-50$+ on keys after a few months is pretty annoying. Don't get me wrong, I love the keyboard and the switches, the keyboard has been functionally perfect but I was just disappointed with how the keys wore. I would have thought for $150+ I would have gotten better. Also the blue LEDs are quite bright and pretty annoying when at the computer in the dark. Last edited by Johnp; 03-20-2013 at 09:39 PM.. |

After finding a deal on Das keyboard I started researching mechanical keyboards and finally ended up buying the Filco Majestech 2 Ninja .. I am still trying to get used to the bouncy keys, way different from the Logitech Di Novo I had been using for the past few years. Quality of the keyboard is outstanding and it is hefty. I am not sure if I am more or less productive typing yet as I am still trying to get used to this.
