Get some metal gas cans instead of the cheap plastic ones to take advantage of the Kroger (or similar grocer) fuel point discounts up to $1 off/gal for up to 36 gallons. Currently Kroger is giving away 4X points for gift cards (I buy Amazon gift cards since I use them so much). Since my vehicle holds 15 - 20 gallons, I needed about four 5-gallons gas cans to maximize the gas discount. From the numerous reviews on Amazon, the highly rated metal gas cans are more durable, safer, and doesn't leak while transporting but they are so expensive. However, I found this deal that makes the total price on 4 gas cans reasonable if not slick by using coupon code and free shipping.

It doesn't come with the pouring spout [zorotools.com]which you will likely need but it can be added for $5.57
