Was very tempted last time but managed to hold off (Thanks to the girlfriend looming over me), hopefully I can manage to hold out again.

These were $260.99 last year. Is this supposed to be a good deal?

Where did you see it was voltage locked now? I think the people posting the card is voltage locked aren't using the new Sapphire TRIXX software to regulate the voltage. Seems weird that they would change that on the -2L and leave the new -3L unlocked. http://www.overclock.net/t/136511...adeon-7950

Some people are looking for a new card right now. I'm not gonna wait around for several months so I can save $9. It doesn't have to be the cheapest it's every been to be a good deal. I've been shopping around for a couple weeks, and this is the best deal I've seen on a 7950. Although there is a PowerColor which is $270, no rebate.

I'm very strongly considering this 7870 [newegg.com]. For $60 less, the benchmarks look very close, with sometimes the 7870 beating the 7950. But the 7950 is more future proof. Decisions decisions.

Just reading some of the customer reviews lately.
Apparently this will be the norm, but most locked at 1.25 so overclocking still okay.

Yep, some of the newer ones are now voltage locked.
On my one from the last deal on stock voltages I hit 1200/1575 and was stable in 3DMark 11, still have tried in at that speed in games yet, but I'm pretty happy with the results

Im at 1150 1650 and still havent artifacted yet. Got 9570 3dmark11. Going to try for 1200/1700. This is at the stock 1.25 voltz in sapphire trixx. Bumped board li to plus 20.

I bought the card on Amazon last promotional period. I have a question that what are included in the package? I check othe ronline forum and discovered that I lacks HDMI cable, some connectors, DVI to VGA, HDMI to DVI cabble.

I only received 2 power cable, Crossfire connector, miniDP to DP connector.

What about the order from Newegg?

Yeah, My MSI Twin Frozr III 7950 also missing dvi to vga adapter. I thought it was opened box plus it had loud coil whine. Max OC 1200/1600, anything above artifacts likes crazy. so I returned it. Going to craigslist for $240 when i receive the rma.

They are both sweet cards. If you sell the games, I'd think the 7950 combo with Crysis is worth at least $10 more. I like Sapphire's dual fans over the Powercolor's single... so that is worth $20 to me.

The 7870 overclocks to stock 7950 levels.... but the 7950 overclocks and is quieter/cooler/less power. I hear the Powercolor when overclocked can be quite noisy compared to the Sapphire 7870 XT (which has the same cooler as this 7950).

bang for buck, the 7870 LE's are hard to beat. If you sell the games, the 7950 with the better fans starts looker sweeter. I think you'd be happy with either choice.
