Lenovo Thinkpad Twist (Ivy Bridge i5 Laptop/Tablet) $649 AC + tax - Office Depot YMMV (ends 3/16)

Went to Office Depot today and picked up a Thinkpad Twist for 701.74 out the door. OD price $749.99 - Staples $100 coupon = $649.99 + 48.75 tax=701.74

Had the cashier use staples $100 off Windows 8 computers coupon. My store had to do a manual override for competitor's coupon. But it went pretty smoothly.

Of course YMMV, but if your OD carries this machine it seems like a pretty good deal.

I was the same about the Yoga. But this Thinkpad seems a little more robust and I wasn't a big fan of the exposed keyboard in tablet mode on the Yoga. The price on this pushed me over to the Thinkpad side of the fence.

Around 4hrs. according to engadget http://www.engadget.com/2012/11/2...st-review/ I actually seen this at the store and it looks pretty nice but I have enough laptops and if i'm going to upgrade, battery life is #1 factor on my list.

Whining CPU coil. 35db noise in idle. High chance the fan is hitting the case causing rattle. Some 30gb taken away for unknown reason. I would bet on thinkpad

Saw this at the Windows store, and the Twist looks incredibly cheap and "plastic". The hinge didn't seem very stable, and the graphics are worse compared to the yoga. Though the yoga has an exposed keyboard, it is in my opinion the better tablet - sharper graphics, more sturdy. Don't know about upgradeability of the Twist, but should be pretty easy just like the Yoga.
