I have to say that this sounds like a good price based on the number of pieces but "Best-Lock" has to be an oxymoron of a name...
 My son is currently Lego mad and there's really no comparison between Lego and Best-Lock. I've helped him build a couple of Best-Lock construction sets and the quality control is way off - some of the pieces won't even "lock" together. Even the way the kits are designed to be put together are often not very well thought out. Perhaps we just got bad kits but all of the Lego sets have been perfect and 100% of the Best-Lock kits have issues. If this was of the same quality as the over-priced Lego sets, I'd be giving you a thumbs up
