These look cheap as hell, and probably have terrible light output.

Anybody know of any GOOD solar path lights?

I'm sick of the ones that don't cast any light and break in a few months and would rather spend more money on something that will last.

Thanks, I think Sears dropped these down in price further, since they didn't seem to get much attention when they were $15 the other day for the "Deal of the Day". Maybe they'll drop them down further yet, since they aren't getting much attention today either.

I bought the silver color finish ones from a SD post recently and started using them as soon as I received them. They work good so far and also look nicer than I thought they would. We are happy with them. We put them along the front yard flower bed and they give off plenty of light and a nice appearance at night as well.
PS, buy extra to have at this price, in case/when any stop working!

Just a few things to keep in mind...

You will NOT light up your backyard with lamps running off a 1.2V NiCD battery. It is just not possible. So if you want to do that, use low voltage lights.

These need to be in full sun for several hours per day to allow recharging of the battery. They will not work if placed in full or even partial shade. This is not because they are cheap - it's user error.

Yes they are cheap, so get some extras for those that don't work from the beginning. Like if the light sensing circuit is whacked and they don't turn off during the day, which will prevent proper recharge. What do you expect for $1.50 ea?

If they initially work and after a few months don't, then most likely the battery is going dead (bad quality, not being recharged properly) or the contacts corroded. Expect to replace the battery every other year, once the lighting period starts to get shorter and shorter.

Bought 2 sets.
1 for the yard and 1 to keep until we go camping.
Figure I will leave the second 8 on the beach during the day and then move 'em all around the camp at night.
Perfect.

Or keep both sets for camping actually.
