I knew I paid less than the OP price for checks a while back, I THINK this was the deal or at least the company (but it has gone up a buck or 2). May be better codes out there for them, not sure.

Happy hunting, I only write a few checks a year anymore, they are dying out, but having a check book has save my a$$ a few times over the years, enough to still keep a check book around.

Talked about slow. Couple weeks ago I was at the Sams club self checkout line. A grandpa and grandma (I assume) decided to let their grand kids (7 to 8 years old maybe) to do the scanning. By the time they done *playing*, the other self checkout line already had at least 3 customers scan and gone.

The stupid dental office my mother went to for denture replacement wouldn't accept check. Advertised credit cards as forms of acceptable payments. Bait-and-switch bastard said AFTER service has been done, "preferred" CASH ONLY. No disclosure of any kind about extra charge for non-cash payment. Crebit or debit card payment would incur 10 percent extra; using the language of "cash discount", but wrote on her deposit receipt "10% extra for debit /cc" after the third visit. On an $860+ bill, it adds up! In GA here, buyers beware (Vietnamese dental office); surcharge ban does not apply. Already reported them to MC. Visa and AMEX will be next. So this Tuesday, I'd bring in 800 one-dollar bills, ]
with remainders in dollar coins, all untied/unrolled.

In short, check writing or CC/Debit card swiping: 2 minutes!
Cash: Will take them about 12-15 minutes to manually count all that.
