Ok so many ppl have confirmed optimus elite works for $25 plan. My question is if I have a problem with the phone like no internet connection or cant receive text msg, etc. and I call virgin mobile to fix the problem, will the tech make me change to $35 plan since they see me using the elite. I currently using the optimus v and it causes me to have no net connection quite a lot so I often have to call in. I am hesitating to swap the phone cuz I dont wanna lose the $25 plan. Any input? Tia.
I doubt they will even care. When the Optimus Elite was released May last year, the early adopters noticed that their plan didn't change to the $35 come that May 27th ($35 plan enforcement date).
If they haven't done anything to those people, and also the people that used the $25 switch plan exploit that happened late last year, I doubt anything will happen to Elite specific users...
..but my thoughts on EVERYONE using the $25 plan is different. I have a feeling that it will eventually go the way of the original original Sprint SERO plan
clerk at Westminster Mall let me have two with the coupon along with two cases that were on clearance, total of everything was about $93. There are some nice employees here and at the one on Westminster Road who help you save as much as you can. I had some bad experiences at the stores in the Bay Area in the past so it's nice to know there are some good people around.
Another confirmation that the $25 grandfathered plan sticks when you "Swap Phone" via the website.
Anyways I was having activation issues like most others. It's a simple fix. All you need to do is "manually" program your phone with your MDN and MSID.
If you haven't already, follow the "Swap Phone" instructions under your account on Virgin Mobile's website.
Enter ##847446# on your OLD phone dialpad to enter the "Service Program" menu.
Click "View". A window containing your MDN and MSID will come up.
On your NEW phone, enter ##847446# in the dialpad.
Enter the information displayed from step 2. (Note: MDN should be your phone number)
Press done. Phone should automatically reboot with working service. (No need to "Activate")
Note: If you have a custom ROM on your old phone (such as a CM based one), the "Service Program" menu may not come up. You can revert to your original ROM (assuming you followed the golden rule of making a NANDroid backup like you should've) to gain access back to the Service Program menu, or you can just call Virgin Mobile from a working phone, speak to technical support and simply tell them you are in the sevice program menu of your new phone, and you need your MSID. Should be no hassle or questions since they aready know you are in the menu and most likely know what you are doing.
For some reason, this is not working for me. I'm trying to switch my slider and got the right numbers, but it's not switching over. I'm using stock rom.
