But far better graphics than the Intel HD 3000 graphics of the Sandy Bridge processors so that is a big plus in its favor.

Most of those i5 and i7 sandy bridge cpus come with the HD 4000. It was the i3 that came with the HD 3000.
The HD 4000 still only benchmarks at 471 so these graphics are still much better.

I got a K55N last month for $250 at bestbuy, it was open box. Mine is a little different, it has a bigger HDD and Win8 but other than that looks the same.

I've played battlefield 3 on it at low/med settings just fine. Haven't tried any other gaming yet.

The trackpad drivers aren't 100%. The latest drivers back/forward gestures don't work in firefox/chrome. I found an older driver where they work but the scrolling speed is slow.

Battery life isn't great, around 3-4hrs.

Overall I'm happy with it, especially for $250. A lot better than the Dell I had previously.

I bought a new 17" HP A8 APU laptop for $300 a slickdeal posted a while ago. This thing is beefcake! It can run diablo 3 on high, borderlands 2 on medium. Obviously you won't be playing games like crysis 3 on ultra which are benchmark games for needing the best video card on the market

No windows 8 upgrade anymore. This has Windows 7. If that matters to you, you will have to cough up the full upgrade price.

In for one. I'm wanting an AMD A series to play Skyrim on. I just returned a Gateway A8-4500M refurb because the Skyrim inventory, save, and NPC conversation menus would occasionally but suddenly go all wonky on me and make it impossible to play the game. But on low the frame rate blew away the ivy bridge i5 Lenovo that I was using before. I have an Acer with a Llano A6 that has the same problem as the Gateway that I should have returned rather than thinking I could fix the problem. I'm hoping that it is something with Acer products and the Asus won't suffer the same.

Which Sandy Bridge i5s are running with HD 4000 graphics? Last of my knowledge, HD 4000 graphics were introduced with the Ivy Bridge processors.
