Yep gamestop is jumping the shark. It would be cool if Microsoft and Sony follow the steam model more closely and actually do provide some decent discounts. 95% of what I can save on PS+ does not interest me, or if does interest me its a year and a half later and I'll still be able to buy a disc version (new) for cheaper on amazon.

FYI, according to their records, I "saved" $12,894 at Gamestop over the past 8.5 months. Most of my credit came from buying broken consoles for $20 - $35 and selling them to GS when they offered double credit (minus refurb fee). Typical payout was around $130 per console after fees. I flipped all of my thousands of dollars in GS credit on Skylanders that were GS exclusives. I netted 3 - 8 times the retail value of the figures on eBay. Also, ever hear of GS' famous iDevice B2G1 free deal? Didn't think so. Taking $2800 and turning in into tens of thousands via GS with near-zero effort: Smart? No. Genius? Yes!

The coupons are unique. Once somebody uses it, it is no longer valid. They do authentication checks at time of sale.
2012/01/30 - Core i7 2600K + Asus P8Z68-VPro/Gen3 = $229.99 + $159.99 + $23.40 (tax) = $413.38

Gamestop's income is based heavily on USED games. That is why they are not called iPodStop or iOSStop. They are called GAMESTOP. If used games were to be just flat out discontinued, Do you think Gamestop can sustain its 4500 stores in the United States based solely on used devices and Digital Downloads? In its most recent fiscal quarter, 28 percent of the company's overall sales were from used video game products — bringing in $496.3 million. Used games represented over 48 percent of GameStop's gross profits. On another note, why would someone get a digital download from Gamestop when they can get it straight on their console? I bought a few DLC in store when I was buying a few games in Gamestop and they tried upselling me some DLC season pass crap. They wanted the same price as what I would have paid on my Xbox. The difference being, if I paid at the store, I would need to then input a 25-digit code in order to download the map pack or I could just pay Microsoft straight up and not deal with it. It might seem minute, but it is an inconvenience. Kongregate.com makes very little money compared to the big pictures. It's main source of revenue is ads but it does have a few paying customers. By few I mean 2-3% of its visitors. Kongregate.com MIGHT make around $20,000,000 a year for Gamestop which is chump change for a corporation like Gamestop. Who gives a shit that a company is debt free? As long as a company has more assets than its debt, it's a great company. Berkshire Hathaway has debt, does that mean Gamestop is better than Berkshire? No, you dimwit. I do not know what you talking about Microsoft not having sales... They have insane deals that are on par with Steam's Summer Sales. Microsoft and Sony are just entering the digital marketplace for games and are offering day one online releases. I buy digital copies of my most played games since the discs break eventually. My Halo Reach disc is no longer playable since I play it so much, a digital copy will not break unless the harddrive malfunctions, and if it does, I can redownload the game onto another memory unit. So perhaps you are the one that thinks like a 16-year old. If Microsoft and Sony wanted Gamestop gone, they can make it so easily. Gamestop is Microsoft's and Sony's bitch, and that is all they will be. SlickDeals for 2012:
