Am I going crazy? I expected more thumbs up than this (currently this thread has 0 thumbs up). Less than 24 hours ago, a Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 post for $160 got three thumbs up. In some CowBoom flash tablet threads, people go nuts for it over a $150 USED price (not even refurbished). But this is the lowest price it's ever been and no one thinks it's a slick deal? It's even an official refurb., checked by Samsung authorized repair centers, and sold with warranty through Best Buy. Is it because there are rumors about the Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 being released next month?

In all honesty, I was only interested in tablets with Tegra 3 or faster processors. This tablet only has a dual core 1Ghz processor. However, after seeing that this tablet had an IR blaster and support through the Touchsquid universal remote app (better than the Peel Remote app), it made me decide to get it. Since Logitech is closing their Harmony Remote division, I didn't want to buy a second Harmony 1100 touchscreen remote for my bedroom in case they cut off their servers that are required to sync the remotes. Instead, I can now use this tablet to read books, surf the net, and control my A/V gear in my bedroom! Of course, if it doesn't work out, I can just drop it off at my local Best Buy and get a full refund.


Not to mention that with all of the free Reward Zone points that Best Buy has been giving out through their programs the past two months, most users on SD should now have accumulated over $30 in Best Buy Reward Zone certificates that they need to spend (free Best Buy Reward Zone points available through daily/weekly Best Buy Facebook Polls [facebook.com] and Audience Reward Points [audiencerewards.com]). Coupled with the fact that Best Buy Reward Zone members receive $10 back in Reward Zone Points for any purchase over $30 by the end of this week, it seems to make it an even slicker deal.


I actually found this on Best Buy's website and ordered it a few hours before the OP posted it. I was waiting until tomorrow afternoon to post it to SlickDeals since I was expecting a rush of people to order it if they saw a post. I got it for about $90 after tax using the Reward Zone certificates I accumulated over 2 months, plus I'm going to get back $10 in points after the end of the week. Slick deal!

Less than 2 years ago everyone was buying those FP shitty china pads for $180+ that EVO-IC kept pushing, collecting his large commissions along the way. Now everyone acts like a diva saying its Quad-core or bust .

Good price, BUT refurbished... This tablet is heavily out dated anyway.
