My eyes aren't good enough to tell if it's 1080p on a 15.6" notebook.

I have the S400CA, bought during black friday from MS store. This is the bigger one and assuming it is the same as the small brother, you can upgrade the RAM and put a SSD. The thing zips and pretty fast. For some the lack of backlit keyboard could be an issue and it is sometimes an issue for me because the keys are shallower than what I am used to (I am a thinkpad user at work) and the backlit would have helped. Otherwise it is a good laptop.

I think that one may be a YMMV answer in practice. Even if they don't though, the Staples coupon is for $100. So either way, you end up with a better deal at Staples. To boot, you now get 5% Rewards on all purchases at Staples. That should almost take care of most state taxes.
