Awesome dude you are going to be amazed with the development.
For other family friendly burger options check out Slater's 50/50. The Stone Brewery Bistro and Gardens should be opening next month in Point Loma. Definitely check it out. Hate is a strong word... but I really really really don't like you

There was essentially nothing there at that time except Amtrak and some office buildings; the Gaslamp Quarter was rundown. This was before Horton Plaza and everything else in the area. I did work at Seaport Village during college in the late '80s.I just wish we had more time. Due to the convention, I'll have just parts of afternoons and the evenings free. But my wife and daughter will be walking distance from activities while I'm at the convention - my wife probably won't want to venture out on her own. One negative of the visit is that I'll probably want to return. It's just not practical - compared to North Carolina, I just can't justify the much greater cost of living. |

The food is now terrible, we tried it three separate times and finally gave up on going back. The fries are inedible, very hard, and have a "stale" taste from the grease that isn't changed frequently enough. The Philly Cheese Steak is now more gristle than anything else. The attitude of the employees is so much different, they aren't cheerful but are rude and condescending with everyone. On two separate days we found plastic inside of the burgers that were ordered and had to complain to the manager. The flare that existed in Hillcrest is gone. No gum wall, no throwing straws, and no throwing gum. The new "rules abound" Corvette Diner really lost flare. We used to go to the old one all the time. Haven't been back to the new one since the whole three strikes your out thing. I recommend calling ahead for a reservation, people tend to spend the whole afternoon there now that there is an arcade. |

*looksoutwindow* Yep still beautiful. Were you ever a Hodads fan? I can't eat there, but there's always a line. If you need any info about restaurants, activities, etc. let me know. Oh an the trolley now has the green line running all the way into downtown, so on the same trolley you can go to Fashion Valley, Old Town, USD, Seaport, Convention center, and Little Italy. I know you are renting a car, but it is pretty convenient if you guys have to split up. |
