How do you consider this premium? because Apple? most of their stuff still made in china. If apple pull all their production line and factory back to US that when I will consider paying premium price. Otherwise I think apple same as other company profit only nothing else. I'm still using compaq pentium 4 win xps still work flawlessly... Upgrade my pc to 320GB from 40G for only.

Well at least they will start making some of their computers here in the USA, of course who knows where the parts will be made but it's at least a start.

LOL! Just about every computer chip is made overseas. So I doubt your compaq is truly american made. Apple still designs stateside while manufacture is overseas.

For those looking at parallels, Boot camp is free from apple and it runs way better. Just dual boot your system, if your stuck on it I ran VMWare for a bit and it was good but couldn't run anything really detailed as it eats up the memory running win7, osx, and vmware to similate. Currently running dual SSD's so one is win 7 and the other is OSX. It's worth it to bootcamp as you can also change partition size on the fly.

The same reason when I go to my BMW dealership for service I get free food, coffee and a massage. Apple takes care of their products and will never shoo you away and won't troubleshoot for 5 hours before offering to repair it as long as you pay shipping and handling both ways LOL.

Compaq? HAHAHHA Call their 1800 hotline and get redirected to someone in a 3rd world country.

IIRC Compaq was bought by HP, the least premium of companies. If you can't spend the cash on the mac mini, move on, theres MANY other options for you for less money. At the end of the day you get what you pay for. AND FYI the hard drive you upgraded was most likely manufactured in Thailand...

I agree with your recommendation of bootcamp, but from what I have read I thought it was rather dangerous to change partition sizes after Win 7 has been installed.

I ask, as I have a 2011 mini + win 7, and am running out of room. I should have given more space to windows and less to osx.
