Asus G75VX-BHI7N11 Gaming Notebook w/ GTX 670MX - $1,249.99 @ Best Buy + FS or store pickup

Fellas, please help me gauge this price. Been looking for a gaming notebook with the right balance of price and GPU power...most GTX mobile cards with the Kepler architecture (ie GTX 670MX, 675MX, etc) are $1,500+....except for this one. HDD and RAM leave a bit to be desired but these can be upgraded but shouldn't come out to the same price as similar gaming notebooks with mobile cards using the lesser Fermi architecture (ie GTX 670M, GTX 675M).

Otherwise, seems to be a pretty nice deal to me. Cool

I have already submitted to Amazon for you. Personally I wouldn't buy this if I was looking for one, but am not a gamer.

This is regular price. Been at this price for at least a month+. You can get the same G75VX new for less on eBay.

Also, you can get a Sager 9170 / Clevo P170EM custom built machine for approximately the same price with the same specs. These machines are user upgradable so you can put in a better CPU or GPU down the line if you choose. The Asus ROG machines don't have standard GPU cards.

Alienware M17x R4's are available at Dell Outlet with 7970M's at slightly higher price (the 7970M is a considerable boost over a single 670MX and close to 2 670MX's in SLI). Glossy screen on this one though.

Where is the air intake on this ASUS G75VX?

G46, and the G55?

Also Asus downgraded and gimp the 1080p screen on the G75VX compared to G75VX. So be aware.

Asus messed up when they replaced the screen of the G75 default screen of Chi Mei N173HGE to AUO B173HW02. The black lvls and the contrast ratio is worst on the AUO screen on the G75VX and this probably has something to do with the loose screen frame also.

Chi Mei N173HGE on all G75VW
- 800:1 Contrast Ratio
- 0.3 cd/m² Black Levels Value (lower the better)

AUO B173HW02 on the new G75VX
- 450:1 Contrast Ratio
- 0.6 cd/m² (lower the better)

When I was comparing the G75VW and 75X side by side, the screen on the VW looks cleaner and shows true blacks than the VX where the blacks looks a lil greyish/bluish because of the downgrade of black lvls.

The moral of all this is that, don't change anything or fix anything if it's not broke. The upgrade to Kepler 670mx and Thunderbolt are good but why gimp the damn Screen Asus?!?!?! SMH TSK TSK TSK

Where can I get a laptop today that compares or beats this one at this price. Best buy has one on hold for me today but if I can find a stronger laptop at same or lower price that would be better.
