ha, you very well may be correct, but from the perspective of someone reading this, it comes off as immature. in your defense, the comment you were replying too was also immature, but the high road is always best taken. rule number one to present yourself respectably is to never talk salary/money, as it often projects the opposite of what you intend. Frankly, I've met several professional gamers when I took a trip to Vegas with one of them for IPL. I don't know them personally but one thing is for sure, NONE of them looked very sad, and in fact the two I know personally seem pretty happy so far! They're making more income doing what they like than most people doing what they don't like. Your comment about playing video games for a living being a "sad life" is just plain asinine, and obviously meant as over-compensation for your own pitiful existence. Furthermore, the entire second half of your comment screams, "I can't have that life, so I'm going to degrade it, hence I feel less upset about not having it!" *squish* |

As for "brute force" if you think that getting more operations done per cycle with less energy is a bad thing for brute force computing, you clearly have no conception of large system design and the heat problems that they face... |

To everyone complaining that this price is still 'meh', please lists deals of gaming laptops with better config than this (Be aware that apart from the specs, the screen at 400 nit brightness on this machine is mindblowing).
To people complaining here that gaming laptops are not worth it, I would say up yours...This thread is not a discussion whether to put big bucks on Gaming laptops or not. It is simply whether this is a good deals for a gaming laptop or not. |

Between the Lenovo and Samsung, Samsung had double the RAM (yes, can be upgraded, but at a cost), Blue-Ray vs DVD, 7200 rpm vs 5400 rpm HDD. Plus the screen estate and the display, which for me seals the deal in the favor of Samsung. If I am buying a gaming laptop, it will be no feather, and I am not that concerned about portability and weight. So why 15" ? |

I am not a professional gamer. I never said I was. I'll tell you what though, if I could make what I'm making doing that, Why not? I wonder how much you enjoy your job. I'm sure you're addicted to the power trip already. How does it go being hated by so many people though? |

the lenovo is a ugly brick, but the samsungs uglier. i would honestly take the lenovo over this. i find the 15.6 size screen is much more efficient for people like myself who just use daily task. Last edited by FreedomPenguin; 03-20-2013 at 06:51 PM.. |
