This is simply not true, perhaps not true anymore. Yes, they do offer 75% off once in while. While you can count on Steam to deliver big sales twice a year Origin does some discounting as well. Their discounts are just not as diverse and more random in timing. My Steam library outnumbers Origin 10:1 but I had Steam for a lot longer.

The problem is that origin will have 75% sales but the base price was higher to begin with. So, Steam's sale prices end up being what a 90% sale at Origin would be.

No, that's not right. Just do a quick search and you'll see Bad Company 2 could be had for $5 on Origin. It WILL happen.

And the publishers set the prices on Steam. Bad Company 2 was $5 on Steam because of EA.

Ok Yes it will happen but not for a good long time. Bad Company 2 is just over 3 years old now. So in another year and a half BF3 will be around 5 bucks. The problem is that by that time the multiplayer will start to dry up as people move on to BF4 or Bad Company 3.

Also EA had to compete with other titles on Steam on pricing. Now Origin is a monopoly on EA PC games. So they will lower prices but much slower than before.

Thanks, took a while but that worked for me. I also asked if a game supported CrossfireX. Tempted to ask after I got my code what CrossfireX was, since I don't actually know what it is.

Nah, I don't agree. Bad Company 2 came out on March 2, 2010. I bought it on Steam on December 26, 2010 for $5. The Vietnam expansion came out on December 18, 2010. I got it on July 3, 2011 for $5 on Steam. So in both cases, in less than a year after the release I was able to get the game for a significant savings.

While BF3 has not dropped in price as quickly, BF3 is also being supported with DLC much more than Bad Company 2 (5 DLC packs vs 1). The last DLC pack has not even come out on the PC version yet.

With that being said, BF4 is due by the end of the year. BF3 Complete will more than likely be available for $10 shortly thereafter.

Also, it's not true that multiplayer will dry up. I last played Bad Company 2 last weekend and there were plenty of games available. BF3 has a bigger fanbase so I'm sure there will be even more matches available at the same time in its life span.

I'm a bit late to the Orcs Must Die 2 party, but the product key activates on steam! Purchased at Origin, downloading through Steam now.

I finally got the code, which pushed the game close enough to my "purchase threshold." So I'm now the proud owner of Dead Space 3. I'm so excited! Now I get to see how EA has perverted one of my favorite video game franchises!

BF3 isn't a real Battlefield game. If you guys want the last TRUE (and i know that sounds pretentious) Battlefield game, get Battlefield 2142. There's not that many servers, but you'll get into a game.

They took away so many features prevalent in BF2 and BF2142, that they should be ashamed of themselves for COD'ifying the series.
