Thread Details

Just went to Best Buy at Baileys Crossroads, VA and picked up a Denon 3312CI for just $218.99wootwootwoot. It didn't come with a remote or any other accessories but that's fine coz I can program my Harmony 900 with it. They had a ton of other Denon models like the latest 1913, 1713 and 1613 models also on sale. Also saw many Pioneer (Elite models too), Yamaha and Sony receivers on sale! Many of them 50% - 80% off. Check you local Best Buy for these great deals before they sell out!!

Is this deal YMMV? Is this deal replicable? is this B&M only? Is there an inventory checker for the specific item?

And finally is this a deal or just a boast?

someone is gonna come in here and start TCing about how its YMMV, blah blah blah. but let's not forget that in november, people were snagging the RX-V371/471/571s for absurd prices, and they were new in box. i personally grabbed an open box 571 for $180, and I absolutely love it.

it will be YMMV, but if you're willing to do some digging there are chances that you'll find something very nice.

Thanks doctorwizz! I have an Onkyo TX-SR 606 and as we all know it has the HDMI issues. It still works but gotta adjust the HDMI cables everytime I watch a movie or play a game. Got tired of it. So wanted to upgrade to a better model and some other brand too. So found this on Best Buy site last night and drove like an hour away to get this sweet deal as you said!! I'm ecstatic!

SlickTex I'm pretty sure this deal is YMMV because open box item prices vary from store to store, correct? Why would I wanna boast about it. I went in after doing some research and found a great deal and sharing it with my fellow slickdealers! Best Buy actually had a mini poster at its home theater section on top of some receivers saying "Spring Cleaning: AV Receivers at 50% OFF". And thats what I exactly I wrote on my post! I also attached pictures to prove it.

Yes they were. There were two 3312CI's one for $218 and another for $312.99. I saw the $218 model show up very late last night. If you see the attachment picture I have posted, there is an effective date on it which says "03/18/2013". So thats an indication that it was just posted yesterday and I took the OPEN ITEM ID with me and made sure I got the $218 price that was quoted online.

Go to bestbuy.com. Browse "Shops & Deals". Select "In-store Clearance and Open Box". Select your store.Browse Clearance or Open box. YMMV.

What's the warranty on these open box receivers?

Just scoured my area Best Buys since I'm looking to score a 1913. One Best Buy actually had two open box units: excellent condition for a shade under $500 and a fair condition for a shade under $300. Meh. Since this is part of the 2012 line being cleared out for the 2013s, you can score this brand new just about anywhere online for $399, or $350 if you hit a sale. Not much of a deal for open box items. Pass.

You have a 14 day return policy. Or you can buy their Geek Squad warranty for 2 or 3 years. I opted for a 2 year warranty for just $30! They said if it breaks, they will replace with a comparable model or a newer model depending on availability.
