And I could argue last weeks Galaxy 650 ti for $110 after rebate was a better deal than the MSI for $90. Last edited by clearanceman; 03-19-2013 at 09:30 PM.. |

The nicest thing is the power draw of these new cards. One kid is still using a Geforce 8800 GTS 320 meg card. It's a pig, it's slower than an 8800 GT yet draws 147 watts, 40 more than the 8800GT. WTF? 67 watts more than the HD7770 which is 7 levels higher on Toms chart! Even the 8800GT draws over 100 watts. Last edited by clearanceman; 03-19-2013 at 09:47 PM.. |

Like the other guy said, it's about power consumption. Your next upgrade should be a GTX 660 or 660 Ti. The 660 Ti will almost double your 460 and use almost half the power. The 660 is about 75% upgrade from 460. Lowest price on the 660 was $158 (sold out quick), and 660 Ti was $180 with v.me and rebate ($200 in CA), and $220 a few times. I think the 660s and 660 Ti's will hold their value for a while since there are still 500 series cards on shelves. Your 460 should sell for $80ish on craigslist. I like this site for comparing GPUs: http://www.videocardbenchmark.net..._gpus.html |

The lack of the 560 ti 448 and the 7870 xt in the chart kinda sucks but not bad otherwise.

This video card does have lower temps than other cards in its performance, so most likely this is the right video card for you. Your other options are the GTX 650 Ti and GTX 650 which will have better temps but lower performance. This article tests a different brand, but it's pretty similar: Temperature and power consumption: http://www.tomshardware.com/revie...97-23.html Battlefield 3 test: http://www.tomshardware.com/revie...297-7.html The article has many pages so you can flip through and see. |
