Please remember wash very often to fight the Vibram funk or wear Injinji's which REI has been blowing out lately! [rei.com]
Also these shoes are not for everyone, no matter what anyone tells you. You take it easy in these at the start, do not put em on and try to run a couple miles, you will regret it.
If you enjoy being barefoot at home or in the yard, then these may be a great option for you to relearn how to run/walk.
You will want to get a foam roller if you plan on running in these it will help you tremendously... I swear by it.

Reps to the last poster who had the more expensive deal!

I'm still confused on the sizing. I wear a size 9 shoes, euro size 42. 6pm's says that's not my size. On rei's site, it says that is my size and the Vibram website says i'm a 41.

do you have an REI near you? To be able to try them on? if not I would do the measuring that would probably be best.

typical noob stuff.

simply wear socks with them. no different than any normal footwear.
Or not. The Vibram FiveFinger shoes are meant to be worn barefoot for the most part. Socks are recommended for cold weather running. Even then, I wear them barefoot in cold weather. For instance, when I jogged on Tuesday, it was in the mid 20s and I ran without socks. Same thing with today's planned run.

If the shoes become smelly, you should wash them in cold water with no laundry detergent and air dry them. This is usually enough to remove most of the smell. To help mitigate the smell (and help with chaffing/rubbing), try throwing some baby powder into the shoe before putting them on.

For people that own these...

Did your toes have to get adjusted to the split toe style? I feel like that's the only downside I had when trying on the shoes yesterday. I loved how it felt like I had nothing on my feet, but just felt like my toes were out of whack. Maybe 43 was still too big of a size? I tried on the KMD style (you can the pull strap to adjust the fit around your ankles).

I really, really, really want to like these shoes...they're so versatile.
The shoes should fit like a glove fits on your hand: It should wrap around your feet without moving them in any weird way. My toes slip right in without deformation or bending. My toe next to the pinky toe on both of my feet is also sort of curved/bent inward and it's still very comfortable.

I'm training for a marthon with these, I've put about 100 miles on my first pair, and there is almost zero wear and tear on 'em. I jumped at another pair at these prices. I'm guessing I won't have to buy another pair of running shoes until mid 2014 at the earliest, and for you runners - you KNOW that's a slick deal
I've had my Bikila LS shoes for somewhere between 1.5-2 years. I've probably only jogged about 50-70 miles in them (mostly last year near the end of the bicycle season), but certainly quite a few more miles for plain walking and some of the sole is already starting wear pretty close to the end, hence getting a couple more pairs.

Yeah, I think that's what I'll have to do. I haven't had a chance to run down there.

Here is a few notes on my experiences:

WIDE FEET - I have wide feet and I LOVE my Bikila LS shoes, they were comfortable from the start. After like 10 minutes you do not feel the fabric between your toes.

RUNNING - I started running in these so I can't tell you how to transition. I did run 1 mile the first day and regretted it. My calves were killing me. Start slow.

SMELL - These are easy to clean, just throw them in the washing machine and air dry. When I'm wearing them daily, I put a little foot powder in the shoes to keep them fresher a little longer.

LOOK - They do look weird and will bring a lot of attention to you and your feet. If you don't like attention or conversations with strangers, do not buy these. I've had a lot of people ask me about them and when I'm talking about them, more people usually stop and listen.

WHICH ONE TO GET - I really like the Bikila sole since it has a little bit thick sole. I don't want to have to pay attention to every step I take when walking around. I also like the laces since it pulls the shoe very snug around my foot and I think the laces help make them look more like a shoe.

I've ordered 3 times. Two times it took ~4 days. Most recently, I ordered Monday at 5pm, shipped Wednesday (they sent an email) and it arrived today.

Don't go by 6pm's estimation. Go by Vibram's size + fit link, or by trying them on in person. I'm size 10.5-11, size 43. 6pm said size 43 is 11-11.5.

Be careful with your measurements. I had decided to order online and did some measurements at home, which put me at a 40-41 according to Vibrams website (I had about 10.25-10.5in foot length). I tried on a 40 at REI which ended up being way to small, so the footwear guy had me try on a 42 which ended up fitting perfectly. My big toe and heel fit snugly. Anything smaller and it would have been crushing my feet. The KMD sports with the green on them are $55 at REI right now, so I just ended up buying them there instead.

Good luck with your purchase.

EDIT: For what its worth, I'm a size 9 as well. On the foot scales my foot stops right at the 9 mark.

Cool. Yeah will stop by REI tomorrow. All my shoes says 42 regardless of brand.

So I received mine today and while not huge, they certainly are a little "large". My problem is I don't think going with a smaller size will help much since the issue is with the toe slots.

My first two toes fit fine, but the others barely even reach the pockets. So do smaller sizes have shorter toe pockets or just length?

should be a complete fit not super tight but just snug enough that it wraps around your toes.

Even pulling all the toes down my last two barely poke in there - the angle of my feet is way off from the angle of the shoes
