Logitech Harmony 700 Advanced Universal Remote (Refurb) $54.99 + FS via eBay DD

My 520 finally ate it. Saw this a couple of days ago on eBay but not from tiger I think

NOTE: I'm not guaranteeing this, although I think there's a high probability you can get the $10 rebate if you put in the work.

I know that, but the eBay orders go through the same ordering system and will still generate a TigerDirect.com Order # when they process. Its just a matter of getting an Invoice from that point.

In for one. Just had my 800(?) die so I've been hoping for a cheap replacement.

FYI:

It looks as the only remotes Logitech is offering is the Touch (12) and the 650 (5), everything else is discontinued. There should be new models coming out soon, I don't see any with RF support. Even the LINK was discontinued, so no more Phone or Tablet remotes. I just picked up a cheap (Refurb) LINK and I really like it. If I saw this, I would have got the 700 as I needed to add one more device and the 650 only allows 5.

I wouldn't bet on new models being out soon. Logitech is looking to get rid of the harmony division. They might sell it off to someone else, but I'm not sure they are going to pump much into design. I think they kept their 2 most profitable remotes and dumped the rest.

This may be worth it, discontinued or not. Logitech's CEO has said that they are getting out of the remote business - which probably means they aren't planning anything new. We'll have to wait for the harmony business to be sold off and then some lead time for a new company to develop new remotes, and who knows when that will happen.

Why are they getting out of the remote business, if they have the monopoly (pretty much) on univeral remotes? What are they going to focus on, ipad keyboard cases and crappy computer speakers?

Although they sell a lot of remotes, the cost of doing business is even greater. However, like you, I think they're so dominant in the market that re-structuring should be able to make this division profitable.

Oh wow, I had no idea they were struggling so badly.

I see that Tigerdirect is charging sales tax which says "TX sales tax+ $4.54"; which takes the total to: Total:$59.53.

Another ebay seller "netdirectsales" has it for "Total:$57.99".
Any idea on how this seller is? I don't see any resellerratings for this seller.
