If it's anything like most routers, the CPU is probably not even fast enough to saturate the full bandwidth of USB for storage purposes, so USB 3.0 would have just been a waste. If you want to share files over a network and do so at a reasonable speed, you probably want to look into a actual NAS solution of some sort. I'm currently using a PogoPlug and get up to 30 MB/s (USB 2.0 limitation) on a gigabit connection and it works well for most basic NAS needs.
