I bought it too. Model LG 60PZ950 and have been happy with the TV and its 3D. I saved another $200 by using Shop Discover which was %15 savings at the time.

I dont know about this years Lg plasmas but put it this way. panny's are in a league of their own with blacks and color accuracy. imo, it would go like this Panasonic>Samsung>Lg. How is the Lg pv550's 3D compare to ST30 ? Because I own 55" ST30 too and thinking about getting 60" and up ......

I have an LG 60 inch Plasma TV and it's great. I wonder how well LG will support the Smart TV function.
I had 2 LG Smart TV Blue Ray players and the LG smart Tv box. All of them did not work well with Netflix. It would constantly rebuffer. amazon video was OK. Support was no help. I got a Roku and have had no issues. But this is a great price so if the Smart function works well, that would be a bonus.

seriously, for the past 2 years, between both sets, i've only watch 3d twice. Once for each set. i don't watch enough 3d to notice any difference at all. To me they both look great.

I think the buffering is do to your connectivity and how fast your internet is. The lg plasma we have does good with netflix but we're in a big metro area.

When it comes to plasma stick with Panasonic.

Been looking at this tv for 2 weeks. I've read bad things about the soap opera effect and you can't shut it off. Any thoughts on that? Also, does anyone know if I can showroom this tv or a different model? Thanks

I bought this TV a couple weeks ago for $950 w/2 pair of glasses. Its a nice TV! I haven't had a chance to try out the 3D yet, but Xbox looks great! The screen is glossy, like most plasma's so if you have a light source behind you(like a window) you will see the reflection in the screen. I am planning to buy some blackout shades to solve that issue. Another thing to note, this is a beast! Super heavy, around 100#'s, so have someone ready to help you move/lift it. Panasonic may have a slightly nicer picture, but you cannot beat the bang for your buck while still getting a good picture with this LG.

They fixed the soap opera effect with firmware updates months ago. I just bought this TV a few weeks ago with the $950 US Appliance deal. It has been fantastic so far, no regrets.

Active 3D :\ I have a 47" LG Passive 3D I'm looking to upgrade to a larger size TV. Think I should jump on this or wait for a lower price passive 3d TV from LG? This will be used as my main TV in my living room. Any thoughts?

What's the practical difference between active and passive 3D?

I'm guessing, passive 3D has cheaper glasses but poorer viewing angles.
