Aliph Jawbone JAMBOX Wireless Bluetooth Speaker System - Black Diamond for $99.99 + F/S

I am looking for a portable (bluetooth or wired) speaker to listen to podcasts on. I have this one [amazon.com] and hate it because it sounds so tinny. I am prepared to buy one of these but am afraid it might be overkill for just listening to talk. Any ideas for a cheaper speaker that doesn't sound like garbage or should I just pull the trigger on this?

The $50 Cricket deal was one of those epic threads. Cricket Wireless was selling their Jamboxes for $50. They quickly sold out, but many people managed to price match at Best Buy. This went on for almost a whole month.

In terms of the sound volume, make sure you have Live Audio off. Live Audio drastically reduces the volume of the Jambox. That said, the Big Jambox is much louder. The Jambox is ok for in-home use at a moderate volume, but it's not wall-shaking volume like the Big Jambox.

LOVE my big jambox. Picked a refurb up on the all4celluar site when they were going for about $180. Picked up a 3 warranty from squaretrade on it for about $18 as well.

I read reviews that the Jabra Solemate is better than the Jambox. Gonna wait for a deal on that.

Lots of feedback but they've also managed to pi$$ off over 3000 people in the last year. Also looks like slow ship. It wouldn't surprise me if these were knock-offs.

I've never understood what made this worth 3-5x other BT speakers from known manufacturers. I have to assume it's something subjective like sound quality, although that apparently doesn't apply for higher volumes.
