NCAA bracket at work, I have no idea what I am doing :whee:

Is there any rhyme or reason to any of these picks? It seems as if college basketball is WAY to random for anyone to be "good" at picking. Any thoughts?

I just picked a random combination of underdogs and favorites to win. Syracuse to win it all, over Louisville, 82-77.

I didn't do one this year, but normally I just look online to see what the "experts" picked. and then I combine them.

I just flipped a coin for each matchup

In college I did one and went the "random" route. I actually was leading 1/2 way through because I had picked a couple underdogs... towards the end though it went to hell

I haven't watched a college basketball game in years, don't get ESPN anymore, and don't follow anything basketball related. My picks were 100% random, curious how they turn out

That is because the randoms pull through for the first 2-3 rounds no problem. After that, you need to have <4 seeds. The odds of a 5-16 seed making the final four are pretty low...but obviously they do happen (I remember some 6's, 8's, and VCU was a 12 I think.

I just normally do the whole thing on odds. Odds say 1 in 4 of the 12 seeds will win. So don't pick all 4 of them to upset. 1 in 8 of a 13 winning...and the odds are COMPLETELY against a 14, 15, 16 ever winning. it is fun when it happens, but a worthless pick.

The last 5 years, I have won our work pool twice (~20 people). I have also finished DEAD LAST twice and 3rd to last once. it is a craps shoot.

Really neat Idea. I filled it out and printed it. I'll track it along with my bracket and see how it pans out. It gave me Florida over Gonzaga. my bracket has Georgetown over Michigan State.

i ended up with st. louis over indiana in mine . i've also done some traditional brackets, so we'll see what happens!
