8-pack Sanyo Eneloop AA 2000mAh Pre-Charged Low Self-Discharge Rechargeable Batteries $17

I bought this for $19.10 a month ago on Amazon. It's not really that big of a deal (~10%) but if you really need AA batteries...

Somehow I got a $5 promotion and got the batteries, a $5 SD card, and a $5 book for $22 (then $17 after a $5 Amazon GC). Gonna see if I can find the offer. There was something from Facebook at least a couple months ago, but I thought it was just for the weekend and would be expired now.

Don't see any promotions on the product pages. No clue.

Second edit, found the credit, it was a now-expired Ford thing good through the end of June, which I totally forgot about. Mystery solved.

Bought the same SD 8 pk from Amazon for $15.99 in mid January. Still $17.19 is the second best price Amazon has had them for.

Off the hip I would say so. These will work very well in your remotes (maybe even overkill!) and most toys/devices you described.

BUT There may be some special cases where a very particular voltage is required for the product to function. sometimes the designers will rely on the cells full 1.5V and can act funny with 1.2V cells. This is particularly evident in multi (4+) cell devices or when using AA as in C and D adapters. So YMMV. In general, the eneloops are great batteries. Do a little research and you can find similar technologies offered from other major battery manufacturers and save a few bucks. That being said you cant go wrong here at this price.

Get a good charger!

I've got the Lacrosse, though I haven't tried it, yet.

Thanks for the thoughts. If I can use these as I would normally use ordinary aa and aaa duracells, then I am in.
