https://store.sonyenter As I recall, Innocent Sin and Eternal Punishment are two sides of the same coin. Two different protagonists, parallel storylines. They take place at the same time. Eternal Punishment (female protagonist) was translated and released in the USA--while Innocent Sin (male protagonist) never made it stateside until the PSP release. Both good, both worth playing. I'm considering buying Innocent Sin, since it's been localized and properly translated--lots of fan projects out there to translate games that never made it overseas, but they can be buggy. Looking forward to playing the clean copy. Weird that it's $15, whereas all the rest are $10... If you only get a chance to play one game, make it Persona 4. It's the best of the bunch, by far. Persona 3 is very good, but the ending annoyed me greatly. If I hate an ending, it sours the entire experience for me... Last edited by MOkoFOko; 03-20-2013 at 08:48 PM.. |

Personally, I played P4 on the ps2 and fell in love... then tried out P3 on the psp but got so bored- I left it. Afterward I played P1 on the psp, loved it but went a quarter of the way before getting stuck and leaving it as well. I'm thinking if now is the time to retry these games or not on the vita as I don't own these games anymore but am heavily interested in the SMT universe. As story goes, most, if not all SMT games are said to be canon and are loosely related. You'll find a lot of unofficial speculation and discussions related to how and what is connected on a lot of forums. The persona series (spin off from the main shin megami tensei games) are definitely connected, though not obviously... so you don't 'have' to play them all (but you should if you have the time and feel up to the challenge- some older games like P1 and P2 are very hard old school rpgs) the two persona timelines I know of are... P1 > P2 Innocent Sin P1 > P2 Eternal Punishment > P3 (male route) > P3 (The Answer - available on FES only) > P4 (or P4G) > P4A (Arena) Eternal Punishment is available on the PSN store as a PS1 game (for psp/psv/ps3) $10 Persona 3 Portable allows you to play as a female, which is non-canonical. Persona 3 Fes has a bonus Epilogue called the Answer, this is a PS2 game which is also available on PSN store as a PS2 classic (for ps3) $10 Persona 4 Arena is a fighting game / visual novel released on the PS3 and xbox360, it has characters from both Persona 3 and 4... the game has been left to be continued- so the next installment should have something related. anyway, I hope that wasn't tooooooo confusing or anything

There may be a few other games, but you're forgetting the Devil Summoner SMT game that was released on the PS2... but boy is that one boring, even by comparison with Persona 1. |

![]() I didn't really care for "the answer" anyhow, but P3P took out some things, like the ability to run around--removed the animated cutscenes as well... |

plus I didn't want to include any non-persona game in my comment... it gets a bit too confusing. I did however forget to include the Persona 3 related anime because I have no idea what that's about, though I intentionally left out the Persona 4 anime because (even though it's a really good game>anime conversion) I felt that it was too rushed. |

The anime I'm referring to is called Trinity Soul-- http://www.animenewsne The visuals are very good--the story is a bit rushed, and the characters aren't fleshed out well enough, but there are a few shocking revelations--enough to make it worth watching. It also has a few cameos from a P3 character (the companion who likes boxing). Basically, it takes place a decade after P3, and people can use their Persona at any time of the day--not just during the dead hour as in Persona 3. In the anime, it's an age restriction thing. You see Igor in the first episode as well--it wouldn't be Persona without him. Last edited by MOkoFOko; 03-20-2013 at 09:09 PM.. |
