PSN - Vita - Monster Hunter Freedom Unite - $9.99

This is a great game. Plays really well on the Vita (as opposed to the PSP) because of the dual control sticks. It's a rather challenging game... not for young kids.

How solo-able is this game? I am guessing there is like no one playing it anymore since it is so old?

Any idea if I can transfer my save from the PSP onto the vita? It is soloable by the way. Just get used to failure.

I have transferred psp save files onto my ps3 and back onto my vita before when I got a new memory card. Not sure if you can do that with psp though.
If you can find a way to upload it to your account maybe through the pc or something ( if straight up xfer from psp doesn't work), you should be able to DL it onto your vita.

I guess I'll give it a try, I'm not fond of failure, but maybe it won't be as frustrating as I am imagining it to be. I don't mind dying a lot, but I dont like feeling like an ant vs an elephant.

You should totally be able to transfer saves as long as both games are from the same region. That's actually what I'm planning on doing because I'm tired of getting these hand cramps while playing. Just last week I was able to put my pro duo memory stick with patapon sav data into my computer then transfer it there to my psvita for the patapon they gave out for free.

Still the same version as psp's MHFU? does the multiplayer support wlan only?

Oh I haven't played this PSP game since forever. As an fyi, if you have a PS3 you can download an app from the PS Store called "Ad-Hoc Party" that allows you to play this game online and voice chat with your team. You can find it under "Games -> PSP Channel -> "All Add-Ons By Title". I should probably note it only works if your PS3 is connected to the internet via an ethernet cable, that allows the wifi to make a bridge to your PSP/Vita.

Thanks, I have lots of time in this game and I would rather not start over. The analog nub on the PSP kills my hands and it is good to know that I am not the only one who has issues trying to hold the thing for more than a few minutes at a time.

Yes, local only There are workarounds with Kai, but not worth my effort. Never looked into utilizing the PS3 in ad-hoc mode, but doubt it.

Multiplayer is fun, but the lack of internet play was a real bummer.

Not sure if you've done it yet but I have and its working perfectly. Graphics look a bit more grainy however on the bigger screen

I've never played MH before...in any form.

Is there a lot of action in this....is it turn based, hack'n'slash, are there parties....is it a grind? If it is a grinding RPG, is it filled with tons to do...or is it a bit sparse?

I'd love any in depth input.
