if u dont mind a refurb computer (which comes with a 1 year warranty) from dells outlet they had a 30% off sale a day ago plus u can get the 400 + 75 dollar promo gift card and people were getting i5's for less them 300 bucks and you dont have to buy and over priced monitor.

I was watching that sale..... The lowest 8500's were $619 or so before the sale discount and they were Core I5 machines.

I saw no Core I7 8500 machines for $585 before discount ($410 after discount) and certainly none with 16GB and a GTX660.

I have yet to see a receipt for a ~$400 XPS 8500 Core I7 3770 from Dell - Outlet or not.. Make a believer out of me....

thats my post to where i got it down to 441.01 with tax and i ended up getting another $35 off because i called in when they had the 35% off sale and told them to adjust the price because the discount was more and dells customer support is supper nice and they did a price adjust in30 mins.

i ended up getting lucky on the last day, of th 30% off sale and snagged a nice comp. i saw 2-3 xps 8500 with an hd7770 8 gigs of ram for around 400 bucks after all coupons and gift cards. but they went quick before i could even add it to my cart

Forgetting the coupons and gift cards. The Outlet list price before the 30% Off, based on the receipt, was $695.50. The Core I5 I bought for a client in the previous 20% Off sale had it been a Scratch & Dent model (harder to get was $589 before any % discount. I7s with same configuration were about $100 more.

So, yeah, you got lucky in that It was a Scratch & Dent, it was a 30% off Sale and IMO the system was underpriced compared to similar systems (or the others were overpriced ).

Also the "lower" prices 8500s in this sale were gone in a blink... just a matter of luck,
