Wanted to upgrade from my GoPro Hero 2.

Great deal. But tax kills it.

is this any differen than the gopro 3 black i recently purchased (haven't used it yet) that doesn't say "wide-angle" in the title? is there any good reason to have two of these, thinking about buying a second one.
I believe you can get a mount to hold both and film in 3D.

To make the videos look as good as the advertisements you need to have amazing lighting and a ton of color correction in post processing.

that's bs shake head i see plenty of authorized and non authorized stores (plus ebay) using their own images.

not to mention if they're not an authorized reseller they're not part of gopro's "program" and aren't bound by any rules. they can do whatever the fark they want.
I'm not sure I understand your response. What is bs?

That's why all of their videos are outdoors on beautiful sunny days.

I have been using an SLR with external flash for over 5 years (manual mode only). I see a lot of people rush to buy an SLR only to get very disappointing results.

Knowing how much one needs to invest into light and other devices to get the quality of videos as the add is a real eye opener.

A friend's vids made with GoPro Hero 2. Not sure if he edited using the included GoPro video editing software (Cineform Studio) or iMovie, not how much color correction he used but it would have been within one of those two apps. https://vimeo.com/24973532 https://vimeo.com/24498045

You can get really good results with the Hero 2 with normal sunlight or even indoor lighting. This one had no brightness/contrast/color adjustment but it is time lapse. http://youtu.be/KjUjZ_P3E_I The Hero 3 has better low light sensitivity than the 2.

For anyone who already uses the Hero 3, which make and model memory cards do you use? Thanks.

I use SanDisk UHS-1 cards. If you set up a deal alert, you can get them for $20 occasionally
