I expect to sell this game for around $30 used in a few months, once the promotional pricing has ended. I still don't think you quite understand. There is no PS3 version of this game. The one on the PS3 is a fighter style game and is entirely different. There was a version of this game on the PS2 but even then the vita is an enhanced/updated version. You cannot play this game on the TV period.

on the other hand, if you don't want to resell your games, you'll know that the digital purchases can never break, and you can always re-download them as long as Sony maintains the PSN store. i'm not sure how durable the Vita game cartridges (which are flash memory cards) are but once they broke you are screwed.

i dislike PC DRMs because they tend to have installation limits even on the same device. for those without limits, i'm happy to go digital only. i really like Sony's day 1 digital feature and it has earned quite some impulse purchases from me and i'm sure from a whole lot of other people. (Microsoft should start doing the same.)

I think he meant he wished there would be a HD PS3 version with cross-play support.

Failure rates are probably extremely low. In fact, I've not heard of that kind of issue before--and this is going back to the days of Nintendo/gameboy carts. I'd be more worried about the contacts failing after extended insertion/removal.

At some point though, the servers (providing backups) will eventually go offline--permanently--no such thing as forever. And there's no guarantee backward compatibility will be possible with future playstation hardware (assuming this next generation of Sony consoles isn't the last).

I don't even plan to keep my Vita for more than a few years But even if I did, I'd still rather have the hardcopy, even long after the system is discontinued. 10 years from now, I could still likely get $5-$10 for it, or at least give it to someone else as a gift. Locked to my account, I'd have to give them my original Vita or my account login for them to use it (assuming backup and login servers are still functional).

As much as I like the steam concept, I can't help but feel that those games aren't worth what I pay, even at steep discounts. I haven't even gotten around to playing half of my purchases--considering they're "new and unused", it's annoying that they're worth $0 and can't even be passed along to others.

I'm guessing the game has some touchscreen (or rear touchpad) features that make it unfeasible to emulate on the PS3? After trying Uncharted:goldenabyss, I can completely understand why that game just wouldn't work on the PS3.

Uncharted: Golden Abyss was developed from the ground up for Vita. P4G is a PS2 port I think? and it is probably not that difficult to only use non-touchscreen controls and implement something to share save data across platforms.

Yup, originally a PS2 game--BUT there are significant changes. New voiceovers, updated graphics, added scenes, characters, etc--pretty much a remake (rather than a port), like P3P was for the PSP. P4:golden was designed for the Vita, though I do not know yet exactly how the touchscreen/pads factor in--I did just check and it does have touchscreen functionality.

Where there's a will there's a way, but if you ask me this was probably up to Atlus. That, and I'm not sure there are any Vita-specific games that can be emulated by the PS3... but if there are any, someone please chime in and correct me.
