Right, i'm typing from a 15" rMBP now...but this thread is for a macbook air? Which is what the poster is looking for. There is only a proprietary thunderbolt port. Aside from the HDMI connector and apple TV method, the only other one I know of is the thunderbolt dock by Matrox, which adds all these ports via 1 thunderbolt port.

All Apple refurbs come with brand new batteries and shells, IIRC.

they may put retina screens in this in the refresh essentially making all macbooks retina. it will likely happen this year. worth the wait. be skeptical of apple price drops. they happen for a reason.

If anyone want to avoid tax try the ebay deal.. I ordered one and it looked brand new with zero cycles on the battery.. I am not so sure that they replace the battery on the macbooks unline the ipads or iphone because the earlier one I had from Apple did have 2 battery cycles.. And the ebay gives you 14 days return (Apple pays return shipping as well)... So no loss.. Just fyi, on people looking for that.. I got this for $899 - 2% ebay bucks.. Which is not bad for a new one.. If people want to wait for Haswell, then the prices may get cheaper..

I just called the naval exchange nearby to see if they would price match, worker told me their price is 998.00 and that the price had just dropped. Would be cheaper to buy there since it's tax free. I've been wanting a macbook for a while now, only have an ipad. Just can't make up my mind between the air and pro. I'm heading over there today to check them out. Also, I'm wondering why the price dropped?? New ones coming out soon?

If you can wait, it's almost always better to wait.

Whenever the next big and happening thing comes out for us, apple prod cuts shall hold their value very good especially if you were able to get a good price.
Just my 2 cents.
But if u don't need a laptop then it is. All mute, one way or the other.
