Will this WD - My Net N750 802.11a/b/g/n Dual-Band Wireless Router [bestbuy.com] wireless router work with this modem on Comcast, and is it a good price for $49.99.

Can a cheaper and just as excellent wireless router be had? Thanks.

I had to talk to the seller several times before he or she allowed me to purchase it for $67.

If anyone know of a wireless router deal, please let me know!

Thanks,
Tofu Vic
This Medialink router is rarely on sale, but has been solid for a number of my friends, for $50 seems hard to beat. There are $30 routers that might be fine, just not nearly as well-rated as the medialink.

Assuming you don't care about dual-band and other features.

Is it as easy as switching out the modem with comcast? Or do I need to have them come install again?
I also got mine from modems modems on eBay a few weeks back. $67 + tax for me (he ships from WA).

Hooking up to Comcast was a snap for me. Literally unplugged my old one (provided by Comcast) and plugged the new one in. Brought up a browser page that directed me to Comcasts new modem wizard. Walked through a couple steps and bam I was done. No phone call or anything. It was so simple that anyone could do it.

What I don't know if my experience was the norm or not. Could be more tricky for others if something doesn't go right.

In 4 1. Added 4GB thumb drive to use VALPAK10 code. Knocked out the rebate card while I was at it.

Thanks for replying; I have given you reputation points. What about the WD - My Net N750 I just posted above for $49.99?

I'm heading over to Google.com to find out what dual band can do for me.

Thanks,

I just got this modem last week, ordered for $80ish from Amazon to replace my old SB5121. My speeds went from wildly varying from 3Mbps to 24Mbps to solid 32Mbps everytime I dl from usenet now. Also my RDP sessions from work to home I can max my download and RDP is still smooth, before I could be downlaoding at just a few MB and RDP would be unusuable. Highly recommend this modem!

2.4ghz and 5ghz band. 5ghz with N will have more bandwith but thats only if all your stuff supports it. Looks like it's not simultaneous so it will either work on 2.4ghz or 5

Lucky, my offer at 65 was rejected on all of them lol, ended up finally grabbing one from same guy at 67.

BTW the Rakuten promotion appears dead as well - at least I attempted to purchase from them using the promotion code first and it rejected the code so I then went to plan B - ebay...

Did that include shipping?

Is it worth upgrading to an SB6141 from a SB6120/SB6121?

Don't think so, unless you are receiving over 160Mbps service. Primary difference as far as I can tell is it supports 8-channel downstream bonding, whereas the 6120/1 supports only four. Four still gets you up to 160Mbps down.

Yes, expedited shipping is free from that seller by default.

Hope this helps,
