A 5D classic with no live view, that uses CF cards, that shoots at 3fps, that has an awful screen, etc. From a pure image quality standpoint, it'd be better, but man is the user experience a relic. I considered the 5D classic, til I realized I shot action and landscapes, and the 60D is better for both of those. If I was doing more pure portraiture or street photography, I might go for a 5D, but, even then I'm not sure.

The 60D is a really good bargain at these lower prices

Is this an authorized Canon reseller/dealer? I'm surprised it made Daily Deals if they're not. I looked at a pdf of canon's authorized dealers that came up in a google search, and "Big Value Inc." was not listed....can anyone confirm? Is this an issue for warranty, etc?

Great price for this camera, just be aware that Big Value isn't a Canon authorized seller and they commonly ship kit items that have been broken up and sold separately.

I wonder what kind of warranty this body has? Do you get the Canon USA warranty or not?

They are not an authorized dealer, but, they have probably been the most common Ebay Daily deal for Canon gear for a while. Pretty much every major deal for the last 6-9 months has been them, because they break up kits and sell off the pieces.

Whether Canon will honor the warranty is dependent on how lenient Canon stays. Up til now, people generally report that its a non-issue, but, other camera companies like Sony and Nikon are very stringent about this. So, there's nothing saying Canon will always stay that way.

Don't they have printer rebate deals like last year for Canon DSLR's?

Thanks for the confirmation. Less enthusiastic about it now. Great price and great camera (and this is from a lifelong Pentax user), but since it's only at 750 normally, I'm not sure the difference is enough to take a chance on the warranty.

You don't, but they do.

So in this case you have to ship it back to them and they will ship it back to Canon.

Then Canon will ship it back to them and they will ship it back to you.

In the long run, you will be paying for shipping charges to Canon AND Big Value as compared to buying a 60D from an authorized reseller you don't have to ship it back to the reseller you can just ship it directly to Canon.

Keep in mind you have to pay Big Value for ALL the shipping charges incurred otherwise they will KEEP your camera until you cough up the dough.

Just pay a little bit more, save the trouble.
