Hmm... are there any 40" TV's on sale like this? My parents have TV stands that fit 4:3 aspect ratio TV's, so they are not really widescreen TV friendly and they won't be upgrading their furniture anytime soon.

i always look at these deals on tvs when i see them, but then think i should just consider upgrading my old 480p infocus 4805 projector. Just waiting till the day comes when the bulb burns out but not sure if it ever will, been on the original bulb since i bought it in july 2005, bulb has 1500 hrs. But these tv deals always make me take a look.

Lol you buy tv based on stand that you have? Stands cost $40-140, tv cost 400. Excellent logic.

Lol. I thought the same thing. And I'm sure the stand can accomodate an extra inch of TV on either side of it as well. Odd reasoning/logic.

This past December, Best Buy had clearanced out a 50" LG Smart 3D Plasma TV for $399.00. It was 720p and came with no glasses, but the tv was awesome. Great picture and awesome color. Nowhere near my Samsung 55ES8000, but still an awesome TV for $400.00.So yes, you can get great 3D tv's for less than $500.00 nowadays.

I hear ya. I bought an EDTV (yeah, "E"!) plasma display model back in I think 2005 for $1400. My brother bought a 65" rear-projection DLP for $3000 a year later. Insane.

I bought this TV from Frys a couple of months back and love it. The 3D is awesome, even 2D to 3D conversion is pretty good. And on top of it love the Cinema 3D technology - glasses are dime a dozen, sort of speak. Great TV for the price.

Thanks. I would definitely pay $399 for a 51" 3D LED. I'll keep searching.

Imo 120/240hz is a crucial feature if you watch a lot of sports and play a lot of video games which I do. I don't own one yet because I have two older 46" tvs (please don't laugh) at 60hz that work fine and just can't spend the money for a new one now but, I have watched sports and played games on those sets that are 120 and 240 and it makes a world of difference. Maybe it's due to me being older but there are times on my TV's, especially first person shooters, where I need to look away from the screen or stop moving the character for a second because it's just too blurry and makes me dizzy/nauseous.

Well that one in particular was a plasma. I got super excited to find one in stock, I drove an hour to get it, knowing i was going to get it regardless of what it looked like. I didn't know it could have looked as bad as it did though- pretty much unwatchable, the amount of noise, & somehow a plasma had poor motion handling. But good for those who it worked for, or this one was just a bad one, best buy sabotaged it etc.
